The Biggest Sin

Days crawl for her at school.
All she ever wanted was to be considered cool.
Kids here can be so cruel.
Why, oh why can’t she make a friend?
Day-to-day she considers putting all to an end.
Dreams about back then
when she used to fit in.
What is it that the other kids do?
Seems like they’re making it through.
Sitting all alone, she wishes for something new.
Why doesn't someone take a chance with her? Make a stand for her.
Do you care? Try your hand at understanding her.
You don’t know what she feels inside
when everybody abuses her just to boost their pride.
It’s hard to hide in these darkened skies.
After school she runs to her room and cries.
The music understands her. It’s her only friend.
When they are together, no one has to pretend.
She goes to the drawer for a page and a pen.
She writes about anger, trials and distress
and how much she longs to be like the rest.
All the pain in lyric to get off her chest.
Can anyone see who she can be
if she’s shown love to set her free?
What if she put her life to a halt?
Would your hands be soaked? Is it partially your fault?
You never offered her a shoulder to cry on.
A verse of hope to put in her song.
Your love could open the door
to a little more
Than just being a friend. You could even save a life.
A whole new world for her could begin.
Ignoring her could be your biggest sin.

For those who can’t see the sun,
